Anna Williams Dunnaway
Graveside services for Anna Williams Dunnaway, 83, of Washington Wilkes, were held Sunday, January 29, 2006, in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Kathy Lamon officiating. She died Thursday, January 26, in Wills Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Dunnaway was a native of Wisconsin and had lived in Wilkes County for 60 years. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Floratina Batton Williams. She was a beloved and dedicated nurse, serving at the old Washington General Hospital and at Wills Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Billy Dunnaway of Washington Wilkes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Michael Gresham, and Lou and William G. Gresham of Kennesaw; a grandson, Michael Gresham Jr.; two stepgranddaughters, Janna Gresham and Wendy Wickman; two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Gresham, and Will Gresham; and three step-greatgrandchildren, Hubard, Kuper, and Annie Wickman; a brother, Dave Williams of Mission, Texas; and a sister, Edythe Bennedict of Oskaloosa, Texas.
Pallbearers included Richard (Pug) Nelms, Edward Pope Jr., Dennis Palmer, Thomas Gunter, Mike Reynolds, Mel Heaton, and Kermit Hocutt.
Doctors, nurses, and employees of Wills Memorial Hospital served as honorary pallbearers.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
