Jillian Diana Stewart Robert Daniel Thornton Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Stewart of Washington announce the engagement of their daughter, Jillian Diana, to Robert Daniel Thornton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Thornton of Crawfordville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Chafin of Washington and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stewart of Crawfordville.

She is a 2001 graduate of Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School and a 2004 graduate of Athens Technical College where she earned an Associate in Nursing degree. Miss Stewart is employed as a Registered Nurse with CSRA Private Duty Home Care Agency in Washington.

Mr. Thornton is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene J. Thornton of Washington, the late Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Martin of Jacksonville, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. L.A. “Shorty” Edwards of Crawfordville.

He is a l998 graduate of Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School and is currently employed at Pliant Corporation in Washington.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Washington with a reception to follow in the Mary C. Burton Fellowship Hall. All friends and family are cordially invited to attend.
