Tina Harper and Rhodes Seeger united in marriage on November 5
Mrs. W. Rhodes Seeger Jr. Tina Lannae Harper and Walter Rhodes Seeger Jr., both of Augusta, were united in marriage in an impressive ceremony on Saturday, November 5, at six o’clock in the evening at the First Christian Church in Augusta. Dr. Todd Ware of Monroe officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Clarence Harper of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Monroe Harper of Washington and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Watson Blackburn of Lincolnton.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rhodes Seeger of Waynesboro. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George William Ward of Elberton and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Walter Seeger of Midville.
Nancy Cleveland of Augusta, organist, provided music for the ceremony. Valarie Crawford of Waynesboro, soloist, performed “Be Thou My Vision” and “The Lord’s Prayer”.
Mr. Seeger served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Brian Edwin Farr of North Augusta, S. C., brother-in-law of the bride; George Martin Neal of Athens, cousin of the bridegroom; Jason Eugene Adkins of Richmond, Va., Jeffery John Bowers of Evans, Matthew Kevin McKneely of McDonough, Jack Daniel Sasser and Scott Black Wren, both of Waynesboro.
The bride chose her sister, Mrs. Brian Edwin Farr of North Augusta, S. C., as her matron of honor and Bonnie Augusta Denard of Washington as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Hyon Blackburn of Evans, cousin of the bride; Claudia Anne Seeger of Columbia, S. C., sister of the bridegroom; Caroline Elizabeth Griggs of Athens, Ashley Virginia Musselwhite of Augusta, Patricia Kay Stanbery of Atlanta, and Lindsey Meredith Yurkosky of Santa Ana, Calif. Each bridal attendant wore a twopiece ensemble of camel tissue taffeta. The ruched fitted strapless bodice topped the narrow A-line floor-length skirt. Each carried a bouquet of cream and vibrant pink roses and stargazer lilies.
Brantly Grace Vickery and Katherine Lindsey Vickery of McCormick, S. C., cousins of the bride, were flower girls.
Ty Will Gunter of Washington, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was stunning in a gown of ivory duchess silk satin fashioned with a fitted strapless bodice. The dropped waistline was accented with a champagne silk taffeta ruched cummerbund. The full ball gown skirt fell to a chapel-length train and featured a wide champagne sash at the back waistline that fell to the chapel-length hemline.
Her veil of English net extended just beyond the train of the gown.
She wore a pearl necklace, a gift to the bridegroom for his bride from his late grandmother, Rebecca Rhodes Seeger, and pearl earrings, a gift from her bridegroom.
She carried a bouquet of hand-tied white vendela roses.
Reception
Following the ceremony the bride’s parents were hosts at a reception at The Old Medical College.
Kristen Campbell of LaGrange greeted guest.
The food tables were decorated with mass arrangements of vendela and carousel roses, stargazer lilies and cymbidium sprays.
After a wedding trip to St. John, Virgin Islands, the couple now resides in Augusta.
Rehearsal Dinner
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rhodes Seeger, parents of the bridegroom, entertained the couple, wedding party and family at a rehearsal dinner at the Pinnacle Club in Augusta on the evening of November 4.
