Accepting a donation from the Washington Optimist Club are local members of Briarwood’s Competition Cheerleading Squad (l-r) Amy McGee, Ali Dyson, Sponsor Amy Hadden, Britt Edwards, and Liz Grant. Abby McAvoy was not available for the photograph. The Optimist Club expressed its pride in these girls’ achievements by making the donation to Briarwood’s cheerleading program. The girls captured the Heart of Georgia Championship in Perry and were also GISA AA State Runners-up. The Optimist Club’s purpose is to support local youth and has as its slogan, “Friend of Youth.”
