Rehoboth Baptist Church, Metasville, will give a Ten Commandments plaque, etched in glass, to some lucky ticket holder on April 1. Donations are $5 each and tickets may be obtained from church members. All proceeds go to the Christian Life Center.

Adrienne Mitchell, a financial aid consultant from the Georgia Student Finance Commission, will conduct a financial aid workshop for high school seniors and their parents at the Lincoln County High School cafeteria on Thursday, February 23, at 6:30 p.m. The workshop is for both Washington-Wilkes and Lincoln County students. Mitchell will help to clarify the financial aid application process, including the completion of FAFSA.

The W-WCHS Class of 2000 five-year reunion will be held March 11, 7 p.m., at the Washington Jockey Club. Tickets may be purchased at a cost of $30 per person or $50 per couple. The Civil War Round Table of Washington will meet Monday, February 27, at Watchmaker’s Restaurant beginning with dinner at 6 p.m. for $10 per person. Rich Friedman will speak on Judah P. Benjamin, Secretary of State of the Confederacy.

Learning In Retirement (LIR) will sponsor three computer related courses during March, with Polly Fievet as the instructor. Topics will be Computer Basics, March 13, 2 p.m.; MS Word for Beginners, March 20, 2 p.m.; and Computer and Word, Question and Answer, March 27.
