Kiwanis art and talent show set for March 17 at W-WCHS

A popular event that has come to be much anticipated each spring and that contributes substantially to civic programs and cultural appreciation is set for next month.

Using as a theme, "A Dream Come True," the 2006 Kiwanis Art and Talent Show will be held during March.

The show is presented annually to give students a chance to submit their art selections for judging and participate in a talent show to showcase their talents.

Applications and rules for participation in the art show are available at all the schools, at the Mary Willis Library, and The Purple Palette.

The deadline for submitting art entries is at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 10. Entries may submitted to one of the schools or The Purple Palette.

Auditions for the talent show will be held on Wednesday, March 15, at 6 p.m., in the Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Cafeteria. Dress rehearsal will be on Thursday, March 16, at 6 p.m. Application and rules are available at all schools and at the Mary Willis Library.

The talent show is open to the public and is set for Friday, March 17, at 7 p.m. at the high school. Art winners will be announced at this time.

Students in grades kindergarten through the twelfth grade are invited to participate in the show.

Admission to the talent show will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.
