Evangelism rally set for March 16 at Tignall Baptist

The annual Evangelism Rally sponsored by the Georgia Baptist Association will be held on Thursday, March 16, 6:30 p.m., at the Tignall Baptist Church.

Rev. Jim Olds, pastor of the Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point, is the evangelism chairman for the Association and Rev. Wade Palmer, pastor of the Raytown Baptist Church, is a member of the evangelism committee.

Dr. Nelson Price, former pastor of the Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, will be the featured speaker. Dr. Price pastored the Marietta church for 35 years and during this time the church's membership was increased to 9,500 members. He served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention Pastors Conference in 1990 and as president of the Georgia Baptist Convention in 1982-83. He has served as first vicepresident of the Louisiana Baptist Convention and president of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Alumni Association with an academic chair named in his honor at the seminary. The Georgia Baptist Convention has further honored him by naming a 42-bed drug rehabilitation center in his honor.

Dr. Price also serves as chairman of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board of Trustees.

Russ Tanner, center for the University of Georgia Bulldog Football Team in 2004-05 and an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will give a testimony.

Music will be presented by Destiny's Call, a Christian singing group in the area, and by the men from the Penfield Christian Home.
