Fishing Creek Baptist to hold fund raiser for McClain family
The Christian Service Organization of Fishing Creek Baptist Church will have a special fundraising event for the family of Edyee Turner McClain who died February 23 following a long battle with cancer.
The Country Cooking Supper will be held on Saturday, March 25, from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Fishing Creek Church.
For the past several years the Christian Service Organization has held a Country Cooking Supper every quarter to raise funds for charitable causes in Wilkes and Lincoln counties. All the money raised from these suppers goes to charitable causes.
The members donate the prepared food and charge $6.00 per plate. Due to the long illness and death of Mrs. McClain, all proceeds will go to the family.
Rev. Roy Cates, Fishing Creek pastor, encourages everyone to attend and said that any gift above the $6.00 will be appreciated.
