Funeral services for Gloria Callaway, 80, of Athens were held Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens, with Rev. John Walker officiating. She died Monday, February 27.

Mrs. Callaway was a native of Richmond County and was the daughter of the late Alton Harn and Lela Elvira Thomason Cothran. She had many artistic and business endeavors and was a member of the Beech Haven Baptist Church, Athens.

Survivors include her husband, W.R. (Bill) Callaway Jr., Athens; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Mary Katherine Callaway, Baton Rouge, La.; three daughters, Connie Scroggs and husband Jack of Athens, Linda Callaway and husband Bob Nutter of St. Mary's, and Betty Lee Morgan, Watkinsville; seven grandchildren, Lars Rudow, Laura Gisler, Gabriel Rudow, Sara Snyder, Andrew Callaway, Daniel Callaway, and Emily Jane Callaway; and four great-grandchildren.
