Jimmy Alan Rice, 64, of Crawfordville died Monday, February 27, 2006, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Rice was a native of Oglethorpe County. He was the son of the late Richard Marion and Ethel Edith King Rice. After service in the United States Army from 1964 until 1966, he came back to Georgia in 1970. He was a carpenter and electrician, working for Webb Brothers and Herman Channell Construction. He was affiliated with the New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Linda Brady of Crawfordville and Judy Wright of Washington.

Callaway Funeral Home of Union Point is in charge of arrangements.
