Frances Wheelis WOM meets March 6 in Jesse Mercer Chapel

PERSONALITTHEI Mrs. Bill Bishop presented the Week of Prayer for North American Missions program at the Frances Wheelis Women on Mission meeting Monday evening, March 6, in the Jesse Mercer Chapel of First Baptist Church.

"Tell His Story" was the title of the program that told the story of eight missionaries and their work in both the United States and Canada. Mrs. Bishop was assisted by Mrs. Dennis Palmer, Mrs. David McClearen, Mrs. Gene Land, Mrs. Edward Pope Jr., Mrs. Tom Wells and Mrs. Gene Edwards. Mrs. Wayne Madden also assisted and had the privilege of telling of the work her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Alicia Madden, are doing in West Bank, British Columbia, Canada.

Mrs. Bishop continued with the missionary prayer calendar. Mrs. Edwards led in prayer for the missionaries and those with special needs in the community.

Prior to the program Mrs. Madden presided and led the WMU Watchword. Mrs. Palmer offered the opening prayer. A number of announcements were given and future programs discussed.

Mrs. Edwards led the planning of mission action projects.

Following the meeting members adjourned to the fellowship hall for delicious refreshments prepared by Mrs. Palmer, hostess.

Present were Mrs. Gene Land, Mrs. Edward Pope, Jr., Mrs. Gene Edwards, Mrs. David McClearen, Mrs. Charles Pope, Mrs. Dennis Palmer, Mrs. Bill Bishop, Mrs. David Hunter, Mrs. Wayne Madden, Mrs. Rosemary Hopkins and Mrs. Tom Wells.
