Kiwanis talent show set Fri. at W-WCHS
A popular event that has come to be much anticipated each spring and that contributes substantially to civic programs and cultural appreciation is set for Friday night.
Using as a theme, "A Dream Come True," the 2006 Kiwanis Art and Talent Show will be held at Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School.
The show is presented annually to give students a chance to submit their art selections for judging and participate in a talent show to showcase their talents.
Auditions for the talent show were held on Wednesday, March 15, at 6 p.m., in the Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Cafeteria. A number of contestants in each age category were selected to participate in the competition. Dress rehearsal is tonight, Thursday, March 16, at 6 p.m.
The talent show is open to the public and is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the high school. Art winners will be announced at that time.
Students in grades kindergarten through the twelfth grade are invited each year to participate in the show.
Admission to the talent show will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.
