We had a good attendance at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church Sunday. Rev. Martin preached a good message from the twelfth chapter of Revelation and at the close of the service he sang "The Lord's Prayer." After many years serving as Southern Baptist missionaries in Burkina Faso, South Africa, Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Lance arrived at Fort Oglethorpe March first and will live at the mission house there for one year and continue mission work until their retirement next year. Rev. and Mrs. John Lance of Crawfordville joined Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance and attended services at Washington First Baptist Church Sunday. They enjoyed having lunch together at the Home Caf. Mr. and Mrs. Coryer Poss visited Mr. and Mrs. Evans Davis Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Blaine also visited during the week. James Sherrer attended the graveside services for Billy Dawson at the Washington-Wilkes Memorial Gardens Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Juanita Bradford, Mr. and Mrs. John Sutherland and Brad spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bradford and their guests. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bradford, Zane and Mattie of Greenville, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bradford of Thomson. Mr. and Mrs. Evans Davis visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Scoggins in Augusta Tuesday. Tad Hopkins of Atlanta visited his grandmother, Mrs. Iris Dyson, Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday. He attended the five-year class reunion of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Saturday night. Charlie Branham spent Saturday night with his friend, Benjamin Hodges.
