Funeral services for John C. Coleman 86, of Decatur, were held Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the Thankful Baptist Church, Lincolnton, with Pastor George L. Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Thankful Baptist Church cemetery. He died Sunday, March 5, at his home

Mr. Coleman was the son of the late Charlie Coleman and Sarah Ann Willis. He was a member of the Thankful Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He moved to Atlanta where he began employment at Atlantic Steel Company, retiring in 1973 after 25 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta Coleman; and other relatives.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
