Noseser Walton

Funeral services for Noseser Walton, 69, of Brooklyn, N.Y., were held Monday, March 6, 2006, at the Thankful Baptist Church, Lincolnton, with Rev. George Edwards officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died Wednesday, March 1, at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was a native of Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Sallie Willie Nash Walton and Gus Walton. She was a member of Thankful Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Aretha Franklin of New York, N.Y., and Gwendolyn Newsome, Dallas Texas; a brother, Willie Rufus Walton, Newport Va.; five grandchildren, Travis Dent, Charlotte, N.C., Shawtwone Dent, Augusta, Shawn and Jasmine Garnett, Dallas, Texas, and Denzel Washington of New York.

Pallbearers included Eugene Robinson, Bennie Moss, Felix Walton, Robert Sutton, Wesley Norman, and Bernard Norman.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
