James Edward Calloway
Funeral services for James Edward Calloway, 71, of New Jersey were held Monday, March 6, 2006, at the Second Baptist Church in South Toms River, N.J., with Rev. William Greene and Rev. Richard Bell officiating. Interment was in City West Cemetery, WashingtonWilkes. He died February 27.
Mr. Calloway was a native of Georgia and was the son of the late Frank and Hattie Combs Calloway. He moved to New Jersey in 1959 and worked as a brick mason, and at Admiral Farrgate School. He retired from construction work two years ago.
Survivors include two sons, James Hardy Jr. and Robert Hardy, both of Toms River; four daughters, Elizabeth Smith, Richmond, Va., Dorothy Reed, Felicia Farry, and Eileen Garone, all of Toms River; the mother of his children, Mable Hardy; three brothers, Willie of Georgia, Robert and Joe of Washington, D.C.; five sisters, Janie Calloway, Carrie Smith, Sara Green, Hattie Calloway, and Mamie Wright; and 18 grandchildren.
