Jill Stewart and Rob Thornton, whose wedding will be an event of April 8, were honored at a Couples' Lawn and Garden Shower on Sunday, March 12, at the home of Mr. Thornton.

The outdoor occasion was given by Audra Chapman, Andie Moody, Brooke Dawson and Leann Mathews.

For the occasion the bride-elect wore black slacks and a three-quarter sleeve coral pink blouse. She was presented a corsage of daisies, gypsophila and ivy centered with a novelty pitchfork.

Pastel yellow and blue were colors used in decorating. The buffet, covered in white, was centered with a water pitcher of hydrangeas, daisies and ivy. Tables for guests, also decorated in white, were centered with ceramic overall jumpers filled with hydrangeas, daisies and ivy.

Guests enjoyed a delicious meal of grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, potato salad and baked beans. Iced drinks served from a wheelbarrow, a gift to the couple from his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Thornton.

Petit fours dotted with blue flowers were enjoyed for dessert.

Tiki torches which lighted the party area were presented the couple as a hostess gift. In addition they presented the couple a rake and pitchfork.

Sixty family and friends joined the couple for the evening.
