Kiwanis Talent Showcase sees 25 talented kids in competition

The 24th Annual Talent Showcase sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Washington was held Friday, March 17, at the Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Cafeteria with 25 contestants vying for first, second, and third places in three age groups.

Kiwanian Gale Seibert was Master of Ceremonies for the evening, introducing the contestants, and keeping the show moving. Students at the Washington Dance Academy provided entertainment during the intermission.

Amanda Brooke and Charlie Houpt took first place in the competition for grades 10-12 with a lively rendition of "Swing Dancing." Shaneika Mahoney was second place winner, singing "Never Too Far." Alyssa Stewart sang "This One's for the Girls" to take third place.

Breckyn Hudson danced her way into first place in grades 6-9; followed by Dixie Lee Trimm singing "It's Oh So Quiet" for second place. Gracen Ware was third place, singing "God's Will."

Katie Trimm sang "These Boots Are Made for Walking" for first place in grades 3-5. Leslie Souther was second, singing "Reflection;" and Marisa Sifre sang "Jesus, Take the Wheel" for third place.
