The American Cancer Society will offer four weeks of FreshStart classes in Wilkes County beginning Tuesday, April 4, at the Wills Memorial Hospital Library.

The one-hour classes will be held weekly from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 4, 11, 18 and 25.

The ACS FreshStart program provides a trained volunteer to help smokers kick the tobacco habit and to do this in four weeks.

"FreshStart is an excellent way for people who want to quit smoking to learn how to modify their behavior and give up tobacco products for good," said Summer Garrison, a Society community manager in Augusta. "With the state's indoor smoking ban now a law throughout Georgia, it is an excellent time for residents of Wilkes County to take this important step toward a healthier lifestyle."

For further information on classes or to sign up to participate, call Wills Memorial Hospital at 706-678-9212 or 706-678-9272.
