Clifford's Grove Baptist Church is planning to have sunrise services on Easter, starting at seven o'clock. Be making plans to be with us that day. Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Coryer Poss to the Georgia Baptist Association conference Thursday night at the Tignall Baptist Church. We enjoyed the pre-session music by Destiny's Call, and the men from Penfield Christian Home sang "Victory In Jesus." Dr. Nelson Price, a former pastor of Boswell Baptist Church, delivered a very inspiring message. We were looking forward to hearing the testimony of Russ Tanner, a University of Georgia football player, but he didn't arrive in time. It was learned later that on his way to Tignall he was stopped for speeding near Crawfordville and was given a ticket. That is why he was late. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Huff visited Mrs. Elizabeth Huff at Wesley Commons Health Center in Greenwood, S.C., Thursday. Mrs. Ray Branham, Whitney and Charlie, and Mrs. James Sherrer attended the Kiwanis talent show at the Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Friday night. Whitney was second place winner in the sixth through ninth grade art contest. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance attended the visitation hour for Rev. Oscar Green who passed away Wednesday of last week, at Turner Funeral Home Thursday evening. His funeral was held at Emory Hills Methodist Church in Decatur Thursday. Rev. Green was a pastor of the First Methodist Church in Washington many years ago. Mrs. Green also died a few weeks ago. They were the parents of Mrs. Chris Lance. Mr. and Mrs. Josh Caldwell of Statesboro visited Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer Saturday afternoon. They were on spring break from Georgia Southern University and spent some of the time in Fanning County with their families. I want to wish my very best friend, Iris Dyson, a happy, happy birthday Sunday, March 26. We've been friends since we were children and that's been a long, long time, and I love her very much. That day is also the birthday of my granddaughter, Ann Branham Caldwell. Happy birthday to you too, Ann. Also happy birthday wishes to my daughter-in-law, Gay Branham, on Friday, March 24.
