Funeral services for Albert Jenkins, 65, of Lincolnton were held Saturday, March 18, 2006, at New Ford Baptist Church, Danburg, with Rev. James White Jr. officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died March 11 at his home.

Mr. Jenkins was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the Thenia Jenkins and the late Wash Jenkins of Danburg. He was a member of New Ford Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Bessie L. Jenkins of Lincolnton; his mother, Thenia Jenkins, Danburg; two sons, Daniel Jenkins, Elberton, and Quincy Jenkins, Atlanta; a daughter, Cherry L. Clarke, Augusta; two sisters, Ida Ruth Jenkins, Danburg, and Janie Mae Jenkins, New York; five brothers, Donell Jenkins, Earl L. Jenkins, and Joseph Jenkins, Danburg, John Moses Jenkins, Metasville, and Paul Jenkins, New York.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
