Representatives from seven Wilkes County churches met Tuesday evening, March 14, at the Fishing Creek Baptist Church to discuss plans for the annual Good Ole Summertime Tent Crusade.

Results of previous tent revivals in the area were discussed and plans for a ninth revival in North Wilkes County were made. This year's revival will be known as the Good Ole Summertime Tent Crusade/Revival IX and will be held Sunday through Friday, June 4-9, at the junction of Georgia Highway 17 and the Sandtown Road.

Rev. Roy Cates was elected chairman; Rev. Clayton Sanders, vicechairman; Roger Walker, treasurer; and Rev. Albert Huyck, secretary.

Plans were also made for a chicken barbecue and auction on May 20 at the old Tignall School grounds and gym.

Rev. Ben Glosson of Hazelhurst will be the preacher; Tom Brown, the music leader; and Freddie Brown, the accompanist.

Sponsoring churches will be Beulah, Clark's Station, Ebenezer, Newtown, Sardis, and Wilkes County Baptist churches. Services will be at 8 p.m. with pre-service activities beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Other churches that wish to participate will be welcomed.
