The past two hurricane seasons have been horrific and the 2006 hurricane season is rapidly approaching.

In preparation for the 2006 season, WRDW-TV's StormTeam 12 has invited the public to join them, Bob Smith, Tim Strong, and Adam Clark, along with some of the top climatologists and researchers as they present the latest findings and information on Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Fort Discovery during "StormFest 2006."

Hope Mizzell, South Carolina State Climatologist, will be presenting hurricane patterns both past and present and Dr. David Stooksbury, Georgia State Climatologist, will be discussing Georgia's vulnerability to hurricanes. Also, David Glenn, a USC doctoral candidate, will demonstrate how to reconstruct hurricane tracks and Steve Naglic, Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Columbia, S.C., will offer advanced training in storm spotting.

Lunch will be provided but an RSVP to Adam Clark is required by noon on March 31.
