As the American Cancer Society's Summer Garrison cheers them on, the student body of Washington-Wilkes Elementary School release Relay for Life balloons into the spring wind in memory of, and in honor of, Wilkes County people who have fought cancer over the years. The program was part of the preparations for Wilkes County's Relay for Life set for May.
