Mass food distribution set for April 19 at Pope Center

The CSRA Economic Opportunity Authority will have a mass food distribution in Wilkes County on Wednesday, April 19.

The distribution will be conducted at the Edward B. Pope Community Center at 48 Lexington Avenue from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.

The food will be distributed to low-income and elderly persons, serving a total of 200 families in Wilkes County, and will provide fruits, vegetables, canned meats, and juices. Each family will be provided one bag of food with up to 14 items.

The distribution is a first-come, first-served event. Persons wishing to receive food must bring a picture identification and know their household size (number living in home), and the monthly income for the family.
