Jackson (left) and Fiona Calhoun, first year teachers in Washington-Wilkes, told members of the local Rotary Club how they came to be in Wilkes County and exclaimed how much they like it here. Mrs. Calhoun is the counselor at W-W Primary School and came to the United States from Ireland at the age of nine. Mr. Calhoun is a PE teacher and head coach of the varsity girls basketball team at W-WCHS. The couple told about how they met, got married, and have managed to get jobs in the same systems. They both said they plan to stay in Washington-Wilkes for a long time.
