Jill Stewart, bride-elect of Rob Thornton, was honored at a miscellaneous shower on Saturday afternoon, March 25, given by the ladies of Sandy Cross Baptist Church in the church fellowship hall.

For the occasion Miss Stewart wore black slacks and a yellow top. She was presented a corsage of yellow and white spring flowers tied with green ribbon. Corsages were also presented to her mother, Mrs. Douglas Stewart; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Danny Thornton, and grandmother, Mrs. Eugene Thornton Sr.

As guests arrived they signed the register on a table accented with a crocheted centerpiece, handmade many years before by the prospective bridegroom's great-grandmother, the late Ruby Thornton. Also on the table was a decoratively cut cabbage filled with radish roses and other decoratively cut and arranged carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and pepper.

A white cloth covered the refreshment table. Centering the table was a beautiful spring arrangement of yellow and green miniature carnations and button chrysanthemums, yellow and white daisies and solidago.

From the table, guests enjoyed a bountiful and delicious assortment of party foods and punch. Yellow daisy chrysanthemums surrounded the punch bowl.

More than 45 guests attended in addition to the bride-elect's mother, prospective bridegroom's mother and grandmother.
