Friends of the Mary Willis Library invite the public to attend the annual Wilsbary Mayfest on the lawn of the library Friday, May 5, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

"You are promised a festive outing as Friends and friends vie for best choice of books, plants and goodies," says Ruth Rogers on behalf of the Friends.

Books of all kinds are sorted; plants from Washington-Wilkes gardens are potted; and delicious edibles of all kinds from some of the best cooks anywhere are ready for the annual fund-raiser.

Donations of books are appreciated. Contributions of food or plants to sell should be taken to the library on Friday morning before 10 o'clock.

Shoppers are urged to arrive early because the best selections of everything go fast.

In case of rain, the Mayfest will be held inside the library.
