Carter's Grove Baptist Church will be having its annual homecoming day Sunday, May 21. Guest speaker will be Rev. Jim Olds, pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church near Union Point. I would like to encourage all members and former members who are able and can, to try to take part. They are small in active members, but their faith and trust in the Lord is still great. My mother, the late Martha Jane "Mattie" Sherrer (Mrs. Emmette Lyle) Johnson, grew up at Carter's Grove. Her parents, the late William Hill "Will" Sherrer and Mary Lou Mamie Nash Sherrer, were active members and are buried in the church cemetery along with six of their nine children. So if you can, your love and support will be appreciated. Among those visiting Priscilla Maxwell in the Elberton hospital

during the week and weekend, besides her family, were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Davison, Mr. and Mrs. Jason Downs, Henry and Faye McAvoy, his sister, Mary Hawes, Alice Thornton, Reba Thornton, Rev. Robert Rayner, his son, Rev. Steve Rayner, Rev. and Mrs. Thompson Holloman, and Hazel Callaway. Your prayers are greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind that Vacation Bible School at Phillips Mill is June 1-5. We still need helpers. Remember. God loves you.
