Eloise Cooper Crowder of Cornelia called to mention how much she is enjoying the Tignall News and to check on her friend, Mae Butler. Her grandfather was Will Bobo, a former Wilkes County Sheriff. Mr. Bobo was also a builder, building several homes in the Tignall area. One such house - the Thomas Adams home - is now owned by Mrs. Evelyn Rambo. Further, my grandmother, Nobie Adams Wansley, was Mr. Will's fourth wife. The front page of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Sunday mentioned how the Blue Angels (the flight squadron which demonstrates at air shows) dazzled the crowd at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta Saturday afternoon. The Keener family was also being dazzled Saturday afternoon! Nolan Christopher Keener (first grandson, and son of Chris and Angie) was born Saturday afternoon about 3:30. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 5 ounces, and his big sister, Madison Grace, was all smiles. Sorry about two articles in a row about the Keeners, but . . . Listen up rambling enthusiasts (victims) - Beverly (Garrett) Barney had the following input: Miss Stella Wilson did not answer, "Number please" (sorry, that was Lilly Tomlin on Laugh-In.) Miss Stella answered, "Central." And, further, at that time, L&L was known as LeRoy's Market or just LeRoy's. This LeRoy's, later L&L, was very special to our little town. You could call your order in and have it delivered. Mayberry maybe, but we liked it. During the upcoming

weeks we will have a recap of the ramblings and some more interesting in-put from other sources. Our local postmen have asked that everyone check their mailboxes for wasp nests. One of these mail carriers is highly allergic to wasps. Last week an emu chased this same local mail carrier. These are some of the dangers of carrying the mail. Louise Denard, who works at the Callaway Plantation Museum, also had an interesting experience last week. She said that a group of students from Brookhaven School was visiting and the students were on the grounds eating lunch, when a plane flew over and went straight up and then did a spiraling nosedive before pulling up. He did several tricks which excited the kids. They called the airport to see who the stunt pilot was and they were told that it was just someone who had stopped to refuel. So he provided free entertainment. We extend our sympathy to the family of James Daniels who passed away last week. He will be missed by many friends and his wife, Mrs. Daniels, daughter Ree, and son, Sammy Daniels. The Tignall Market Place has some good tomatoes and strawberries. There are many other vegetables and fruits available. They are now open on Fridays and Saturdays. We want to welcome Mariana Brown back to the Tignall area. She has moved back here to be with her mom, Anna Brown. Lois Savage is not doing well so let's keep her in our prayers. Dave Derrick is also having some health problems and has been in the hospital in Athens. Belle Shoemaker has suffered a massive stroke and is a patient at Athens Regional Hospital. Let's add her to our prayers. Marvin Wilson Jr. had to be hospitalized while he was in Oklahoma, but Joan says he has been dismissed and on his way home. Let's hope he is much better when he arrives at home. The fish fry at Beulah Baptist Church was a success. I understand the fish were delicious. The churchwide singing at Tignall Baptist was also a success. There were 70 people served at the spaghetti supper, but more people showed up for the singing afterward. Preacher Dale did play his harmonica. There was good singing participation and lots of laughter which is good for everyone.

The youth group from Fishing Creek Baptist Church went skating at Red Wing Roller Rink in Augusta Sunday afternoon. The adults who went along enjoyed skating as much as the young people. This same group will be having a bake sale on The Square Saturday at Market Day. They are making money to go on a youth rally in Jekyll Island called "Super Wow." Next Sunday, May 7, will be Senior Adult Day throughout the Southern Baptist Convention. The Senior Adults at Tignall Baptist Church will be recognized with special music during the morning worship service and are invited to attend a luncheon in the Family Life Center afterwards.

Sunday, May 21, will be Youth Sunday. The youth of Tignall Baptist will be sponsoring a brunch that morning before Sunday School and participating in the worship service. Tena Blakey will be teaching the youth a "special song" to sing that morning. All youth are asked to join the Praz Team at 5 p.m. each Sunday evening to practice this song. We have a very talented group of youth in this church. Donald Ware, who is a member of the Granite Center Shriners Club, went with others from Elberton and carried a group of Elbert County fifth graders to a Shriners Circus in Marietta Saturday. They had a great time.
