Explains taxing procedures

Wilkes County Commissioner Donna Hardy (left) was the guest speaker at the regular Tuesday lunch meeting of the Washington Kiwanis Club. She told members that property taxes are an investment in the community and outlined the procedures by which tax amounts are set by the county. The second-term commissioner also described some of the services that tax dollars provide to enhance the quality of life. She was introduced by Pam Eaton (right) who was program host for the day.
