Belle Solomon guest of honor at morning coffee on April 22
Belle Story holding great-granddaughter, Belle Solomon Mrs. Phil Oliver and Mrs. Don Davis of LaGrange were hostesses for a morning coffee to meet Mrs. Oliver's granddaughter, Frances Belle Solomon, on Saturday morning, April 22, at the Oliver home.
Belle was born February 13 to Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Solomon of Newnan. Her mother is the former Maria Oliver, daughter of the former Gayle Drinkard and granddaughter of Mrs. Frank Story and the late Murray Drinkard of Washington.
For her party Belle wore a pink dress smocked in rosebuds.
Lovely spring arrangements were used throughout the house in decorating. In the dining room the table was centered with a silver plateau surrounded in scrunched mint green and a softening overlay. A crystal compote holding a silver duck tied with transluscent ribbon and pictures of Belle were atop the plateau. Surrounding the plateau were silver frames holding pictures of Belle intermingled with parents' and grandparents' silver baby cups and rattles, transparent pink ribbon and variegated ivy. Flanking the silver plateau were hot pink tulips with sprengeri fern and variegated ivy in maestro vases placed on mirrors.
The hunt board held an arrangement of pink gladioli and bells of Ireland in a crystal vase filled with key limes.
Guests were served coffee from a silver service in the dining room. Foods included Nana's much-loved pound cake served from a Waterford cake stand, almond cream-filled strawberries and blue cheese wrapped grapes served on a silver lazy Susan, smoked salmon roll-ups, bacon-wrapped water chestnuts and cinnamon roll-ups.
Belle's great-grandmother, Mrs. Frank Story, and Mrs. Carl Adams of Washington assisted in serving.
A chest in the foyer of the home held a similar arrangement to that in the dining room. In the family room a sofa table held an arrangement of pink peonies, pink snapdragons, daisy chrysanthemums, bells of Ireland, Queen Anne's lace and mock orange greenery.
Eighty guests were invited and included Belle's great-grandmothers, Mrs. Story and Mrs. Charlie Solomon of LaGrange, and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ellis Solomon, also of LaGrange.
