Members of the Briarwood Academy Track Team who placed in the 2006 Region 1-AA Track and Field Championships were (l-r) Olivia Lyons, Anna Goolsby, Lizzie Keen, and Angela Kirkland. Four Washington-Wilkes students were members of the Briarwood Academy Track and Field Team which participated in the 2006 Region 1-AA Track and Field Championships hosted by Gatewood Schools April 20.

The four students - Olivia Lyons, Anna Goolsby, Lizzie Keen, and Angela Kirkland - will compete in Albany at the state championship event. Anna placed first in the 800 meter

run; fourth in the 400 meter dash; second in the 4x100 relay; and second in the 4x400 relay.

Lizzie placed third in the 400 meter dash; third in the 200 meter dash; second in the 4x100 relay; and second in the 4x400 relay.

Olivia placed second in the high jump.

Angela placed in the pole vault.

The Lady Bucs placed second overall in the competition against seven schools.
