WMH Health Fair set Saturday; health screenings available

The annual Wills Memorial Hospital Health Fair will be held Saturday, May 13, on the lawn between the hospital and the Wilkes County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) building. The fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Services offered at the health fair will include blood pressure and glucose screenings, bone density, strength testing, cholesterol screening, oxygen oxcemetry evaluation, pulmonary function screenings and there will be a blood drive.

The goal for the blood drive is 30 donors. Each donor will receive a free cholesterol screening and a T-shirt.

Vendors who have already committed to participate in the health fair include the AARP, American Cancer Society, CareSouth, CSRA Home Health Agency, CSRA RDC Area Agency on Aging, Curves, Georgia Respiratory, Medical College of Georgia, Wills Memorial Hospital Occupation Therapy and Respiratory Therapy, Shepeard Blood Center, Southern Care Hospice, Washington Internal Medicine, Wilkes Eye Center and Wilkes Health Department.

There will be drawings for prizes.
