Volunteers make success of Career Day
Those volunteering their time to speak to students about their professions during Career Day included Carolyn McGahee (aviator), Joyce Williams (schools superintendent), Todd Lewis (business owner), Jeff Paul (Rayle EMC), Jerry Hackney (911), Mark Bryngleson (parole officer), Debbie Jackson (jeweler), Tim Wright (fireman), Sarah Peacock (assistant district attorney), Amy Moore (nurse), Shane Moore (construction), Marvin McAvoy (dairy farmer), Dr. Angela ButlerRice (doctor), Dr. Erick Pagan (dentist), Willie Burns (mayor), Trudie Gallo (teacher), Jackson Calhoun (coach), Michelle Dennard (hairdresser), Keith Murray (forester), Ben Pinee (meterologist), and Bridget Williams (news reporter). Counselor Fiona Calhoun expressed her thanks to the following people for making career day a success: Amy Long, Ann Tiller, Joy Martin, Terri Hammond, Jennifer McAvoy, Sandra Gammon, Ginny King, and Becky Hughley. Ben Pinee and Bridgett Williams (rear) from NBC-26 spoke to second graders during Career Day at Washington-Wilkes Primary School. Students were thrilled to see their cameo appearance on the news the following morning.
