The North Wilkes Steering Committee met Thursday night, May 4, to prepare for the community-wide yard sale which will be on May 13. Those members attending were Margaret Fortson, Eudora Huyck, Margie Bunch, Susannah Carter, Gloria Ware, Celeste Adams. Robin Turner, and Carolyn Gammon.

The steering committee will be having a bake sale during this yard sale. If anyone would like to donate

a cake, brownies or cookies to the bake sale, the committee would appreciate it.

The committee made a decision to purchase a new stove for the lunchroom. They also decided to take on the project of redoing the welcome sign at the south end of the town.

The next meeting will be in July to start the planning of the fall festival which will be the first Saturday in November.
