Woman's Club installs new officers at meeting May 8; Vivian Walker to serve as president

Vivian Walker was installed as president of the Woman's Club of Washington at the meeting Monday, May 8, at the clubhouse.

Barbara Roberts, outgoing president, installed Mrs. Walker and the other officers, Nancy Sisson and Melissa Grant, co-first vice-presidents; Earlene King and Cheryl Bentley, co-second vice-presidents; Dean Mansfield, third vice-president; Mary McPherson, secretary; Jean Steed, treasurer; Mary Donna Lunceford, assistant treasurer; Bunny Gunby, chaplain; and Sharleen Anderson, parliamentarian.

Mrs. Roberts was applauded for her service as president of the Club for the past three years.

Prior to the installation, Mrs. Roberts presided.

Hostesses were Dean Mansfield, Melissa Grant and Sharleen Anderson.

Barry Rogers from Otter Creek Gardens was guest speaker and demonstrated annual flower planting. He was introduced by Mrs. Mansfield. Donations from the Club were

made to Relay for Life, July 4 Fireworks, Cancer Relief Fund and Summer Day Camp for Wilkes County.

The Club will break for the summer and resume in August with a tea and new membership drive.
