Mrs. Richard Chad Thornton was guest of honor at a baby shower on Sunday afternoon, April 30, given by Mrs. Joe Barnett Jr. at Watchmaker's in The Fitzpatrick Hotel.

Mrs. Thornton was presented a corsage of daisies accented with a blue bow and baby rattles.

As guests arrived, they were invited to register in a baby's keepsake book, as well as on a blue and white plate adorned with a precious blue teddy bear. The plate was a special gift from Mrs. Jack Strother and Mrs. Ricky McCarty.

Budvases of white daisies, blue delphiniums and greenery adorned with blue bows and baby rattles to match Mrs. Thornton's corsage centered the eight dining tables overlaid with white cloths.

From the beautiful buffet table, overlaid in white cloths, toile, ivy and fresh flower petals, guests enjoyed a delightful assortment of fresh fruits, Southern barbecue meatballs, several varieties of party sandwiches, an exotic assortment of fresh vegetables served with Ranch dressing, cheese buttons, cakes squares with blue baby booties and margarita punch.

The hostesses presented Mrs. Thornton a hand-crafted wooden toy bench adorned with brightly hand-painted wooden fish and sea life complete with a custom seat cushion to match the family heirloom rocking chair in the baby's room.

Eighty-five guests were invited.
