FBC VBS will have 'Arctic Edge' theme
The children of First Baptist Church invite the public to Vacation Bible School June 5-9 at the church. The First Baptist Church of Washington will have Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday, June 5-9, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
The theme for this year's sessions is "Arctic Edge, Where Adventure Meets Courage." Classes will be available for children four years old through the fifth grade.
Trekking north through Alaska to the Arctic region provides a picturesque adventure for children to learn about biblical courage. The Bible stories, Bible verses, Vacation Bible School motto and scripture all enhance the theme and are expected
to teach the children how to face challenges at home, school, and church with courage.
The Arctic Edge theme uses Alaska which is a land of contrast and extremes where courage is needed to face harsh living conditions to teach Christian principles. Contrary to popular belief, the Arctic is not all ice and snow.
"The frontier spirit of the Alaskan wilderness offers opportunities for this year's Extreme Polar Outlanders (XPOs) to test their knowledge and belief in God," says Chris Townsend, First Baptist Vacation Bible School Director.
