Community support appreciated
TO THE EDITOR:
The Friends of the Mary Willis Library has had a flurry of activities this spring. We would like to thank The News-Reporter, radio station WLOV, and the community for their support.
Many friends and patrons came to the library to bid retiring director Celeste Stover a fond farewell at a reception on April 23. After a number of years of dedicated service, it was gratifying for her to be honored by so many. On May 5, the Friends had a sale
in the front yard of the library. Again, we were supported by our loyal customers. We made money and had fun.
On May 11, Craig Amason, Director of the Flannery O'Connor Andalusia Foundation, presented a program at a well-attended Friends meeting.
We are most grateful to be a part of the Washington-Wilkes Community. Thank you all.
