FBC kids set musical King of the Jungle' Sunday eve, May 21
The children's choirs of the First Baptist Church, Washington, will present the musical, "King of the Jungle," Sunday evening, May 21, at 7 p.m., at the church.
Included in the musical, which is directed by Kari Callaway, assisted by Joseph Baldwin, is Steven Curtis Chapman's familiar song, "King of the Jungle," as well as a favorite children's song, "Bullfrogs and Butterflies."
"Celeste Clydesdale, the musical creator, has incorporated the stories of Daniel in the Lions Den and Noah's Ark to help children understand trust and obedience, faith in God, and how we can all learn a lot about God by looking at His handiwork in creation," Director Callaway says.
Soloists are Abby Foster, Rick Price, Sarah Echols, India Callaway, Andrea Hill, Madison Hall, Katie Trimm, Paige McAvoy, and Leslie Souther.
"There are many wonderful truths tucked in this work that I hope our children can learn from," Clydesdale says. "This project has been on my heart for quite some time. I'm a real animal lover, and I've always been drawn to all the scripture verses where God used animals to teach Biblical truths."
