First Baptist Pre-K honors mothers
Students in the First Baptist Church four-year-old pre-kindergarten class taught by Angie Paul enjoying the Mother's Day Tea are (l-r) Jennifer Jackson and Madeline, Melisse Blackmon and Sherman, Annette Gage-Dodgen and Lydia Norman, Andrea Strother and Ben, Libby Foster and Clayton, Melisa Scott and Kelsie, Netashia Bacino and Makaylah, and Angie Thornton and Laney. Children in the Pre-Kindergarten program at the First Baptist Church honored their mothers with a Mother's Day Tea on Monday, May 1, in the fellowship hall.
The children and their mothers dressed up for the occasion with many wearing hats and gloves. Tables were beautifully decorated with pink cloths and had centerpieces of mannequin heads adorned with hats and scarves displayed on a mirror.
Each place was marked with a budvase filled with spring flowers and a story that each child wrote about their mother rolled into a scroll.
Tea, lemon muffins, mini-sandwiches, and teacakes were served by Kermit Hocutt, Debbie Lindsey, and Dean Mansfield.
The children presented aprons, handmade by Joan Clayton, and beautifully decorated by the children, to their mothers. The special occasion concluded with the children singing a song as a tribute to their mothers.
