Carroll A. Chafin

Graveside services for Carroll A. (Donny) Chafin, 80, of Augusta, were held Sunday, May 14, 2006, at the Bethel United Methodist Church, Washington, with Rev. Kathy Lamon officiating. He died Wednesday, May 10, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Augusta.

Mr. Chafin was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of Luther and Dempie Chafin. He was an insurance claims adjuster before retiring.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie Chafin of Augusta; a daughter, Dianne C. Godsey, of Martinez; three brothers, O.L. Chafin, I.F. Chafin, and Marion (Pluggie) Chafin; four grandchildren, Alan and Marion Chafin, and Howell and Colten Godsey; and four great-grandchildren.

Hopkins Funereal Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
