TO THE EDITOR:

On behalf of the Shepeard Community Blood Center and the Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, we express our appreciation to those who donated blood at the quarterly blood drive May 18.

We regret the inconvenience of having to use the mobile unit because of the van breakdown in Thomson, and hope that those who were unable to remain will return to donate at the August 17 drive.

Each unit of blood provides components to save the lives of three individuals. The person who donates then has blood credits should the need arise for him or her and their families.

The need for blood is always greater than the supply in Northeast Georgia. We encourage everyone who is able to participate in the next drive.
