It's the end of May and hot weather is here. It's kind of dry too, so we need to pray for rain. Aonia has not had any in quite a while. We had a good holiday weekend at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Attendance was down a little - not too bad, with about 83 present. Rev. Albert Huyck preached a good message on Jesus and the children from Marh 10. Mrs. Lucy B. McCorkle placed flowers in the church, a beautiful pink hydrangea. Rev. Huyck recognized the veterans during the morning worship service at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday. These were Jack Newsome, Alice H. Ingram, Sheldon Davis, Ed Burdette, Jack Strother, Lewis Hall, Frank Bentley, Jimmy Demastes, James Smith, Tommy Roberson, Joseph Harris, and Coryer Poss. We love and appreciate these people. We are also indebted to those who are now serving to protect our country. Pray for them, their loved ones and family.

I made several trips to August last week on business. I also visited Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sleister and Mrs. Bruce Dragon in Columbia County. On Sunday afternoon I spent a few hours with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace in Lincoln County. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips and Stephanie Haynes visited in Acworth and Conyers, going to see Rebecca Phillips last Friday. Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway's visitors have been Sarah Huff, Linda Standard, Tommy Dunnaway, and Bobbi Thornton. Kenneth Shank of Atlanta visited his mother, Mrs. Dot Shank, Thursday and Friday. Mrs. Lucille Ingram and Trudy Ingram went on a day trip to Charleston, S.C., last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll, Connor and Calley, visited Mrs. Lucille Ingram and Trudy Sasturday and Sunday. Peyton Standard is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Chris Standard in Louisiana. Tanner Barnett of Oglethorpe County is visiting his grandparents, G.B. and Sherry Newsome, this week. He is enjoying Bible School at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Last Saturday evening, Rebecca Shane Gaines and Tanner visited G.B. and Sherry Newsome. They enjoyed going to Thomson. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Meister of Harlem visited Mr. and Mrs. Jack Newsome during the weekend. Our prayer concerns include Mrs. Annah Ray Yearwood, Mrs. Lois South, Mrs. Henrietta Leard, Mrs. Ethel B.
