Dr. Jason Cobb receives degree from Emory School of Medicine
DR. COBB Jason Cobb of WashingtonWilkes graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta on Monday, May 15, receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree.
Dr. Cobb will be working as a resident physician in the Emory University Internal Medicine program. The Emory program is one of the largest in the country with house staff working at Emory University, Emory Crawford Long, Grady Memorial, and the Atlanta Veterans Administration hospitals.
The 161st commencement of Emory University was held on the campus green at 8 a.m. with more than 3,000 graduates participating. The commencement speaker was civil rights activist, Marian Wright Edelman.
At noon, the Emory School of Medicine Diploma Ceremony was held in Glenn Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Jordan J. Cohen, president of the Association of American Medical Colleges, as the speaker. Each of the 110 doctor of medicine graduates was hooded and signed their name into a graduation book with the title doctor/MD for the first time on the chapel stage.
Dr. Cobb is the son of Kay Frances Cobb of Washington and is valedictorian for the Class of 1998 at Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School. He is a 2002 graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Branan, Melody Gartrell, Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Wiggs, and Ronnie Wright.
