I am enjoying this nice cool weather we are having and hope it continues for a while. We have not gotten any rain to speak of and we need it badly. The few little sprinkles helped us feel better anyway. Sardis Baptist Church Vacation Bible School will be held for the youth Tuesday through Thursday, June 20-22, from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be games, activities and Bible study. The children's Bible school will be held Sunday through Friday, June 25-30, from 7 to 9 p.m. A family night hotdog supper will be given Friday, June 30, at 6 p.m. where the parents are invited to see what their children have accomplished followed by a brief worship rally. Beaverdam Baptist Church enjoyed a Sunday School lesson by Leeman Stewart Sunday. Rev. Jim Edwards brought an inspiring message with old time hymns by the congregation with William Morrison at the piano. The congregation sang "Happy Birthday" to Betty Byrd. The church was beautifully decorated with hydrangea, gladioli and gardenias on the altar table. A large single magnolia in a shallow crystal dish was on the organ and a budvase with a stem of butterfly bush, daisies and gardenias was on the piano. The church is enjoying good messages by Rev. Donnie Berry, pastor of Mallorysville Baptist Church, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. The planning committee for the Rayle Ramble met Thursday at 7 p.m. at Rayle City Hall. Attending were Jason Echols, Rubye Armour, Billy Amason, Joyce Fry, Martha Hall, Joan Echols, Peggy Echols, Henry and Debbie Anderson, Bonnie Boatwright, and Mrs. Spooner.
