Funeral services for Dorothy Rozella Armour Harrison, 81, of Tignall were held Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at the Tignall Independence United Methodist Church with Rev. Marvin Mason and Rev. Dale Fincher officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died Monday, June 5, at her home.

Mrs. Harrison was born in Abbeville, S.C., and was a lifelong resident of Wilkes County. She was the daughter of the late John N. Armour and Esther B. Armour. She retired from the Tignall Post Office, and was a member of the Tignall Independence United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Roy J. Harrison Jr. of Tignall; a son, Don J. Harrison and his wife Susan of Gastonia, N.C.; a daughter, Dottie H. (Sissy) Rogers, and her husband Clyde Rogers of Tignall; a daughter in-law, Sandra Harrison of Tignall;

five grandchildren, Elizabeth R. (Betsy) Harrison, Nathan King Harrison and his wife Amanda, Brooke B. Dawson and her husband, Myles Dawson, Andrew J. Harrison, and Joshua M. Bufford; a great-granddaughter, Whitney Elizabeth Dawson of Tignall; and a sister, Iris A. Mauldin of Washington.

Grandsons served as pallbearers and included Nathan Harrison, Drew Harrison, and Joshua Bufford, joined by Myles Dawson, Mike Harrison, and Doug Stevens. Honorary pallbearers were the men of the Independence United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tignall Independence United Methodist Church.
