Funeral services for Barbara Heard Ware, 64, of Washington were held Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church with Rev. G.L. Avery and Rev. Roy D. Andrews officiating. She died Sunday, May 28, in the University Hospital in Augusta.

Mrs. Ware was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late John and Helen Heard. She was a member of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church and a devoted employee of Davenport-McLendon Funeral Home for 45 years. She was a member of Shiloh Academy Chapter #50 Order of the Easter Star and served as treasurer for many years.

Survivors include Robert Ware of Atlanta; four sons, Darriel Stone, Jeffery and Tina Stone of Augusta, Dwight and Anita Stone of Washington, and Frances Ware of Augusta; five grandchildren, Latoya Winfrey, Latrecia Ware, Kansas Stone, Jamika Stone, and Alacia Stone; three sisters, Glendolyn Dunn, Hartent Jones, and May Helen Young, all of Washington; a brother, Varner Heard of East Point.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
