2006-06-08 / Personalities

George Brewer (left) of the Georgia Department of Transportation spoke to the Rotary Club of Washington and outlined the status of many of the state's current and future roadways including several located in Wilkes County. He told of projected dates of completion for various projects but indicated that the four-laning of Highway 17 between Washington and Thomson is now on "long range" status due to continuing delays with right of way acquisition. He was introduced by Jerry Stover (right) who was program host for the day.
